About Lee Child
Lee Child was born in 1954 in Coventry, England, but spent his formative years in the nearby city of Birmingham. He went to law school in Sheffield, England, and after part-time work in the theatre he joined Granada Television in Manchester for what turned out to be an eighteen-year career as a presentation director during British TV’s ‘golden age’. During his tenure his company made Brideshead Revisited, The Jewel in the Crown, Prime Suspect and Cracker. His first novel, Killing Floor (1997), was an instant commercial success, selling world-wide and winning both the Anthony Award and the Barry Awards for Best First Novel. Since then, Child has written twenty-four books in the Jack Reacher series and has gained an immense number of dedicated readers. He now resides in New York, England and the south of France.
About Malcolm Gladwell
Malcolm Gladwell was born in Hampshire, England, in 1963. Growing up in Canada he received a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Toronto, and went on to pursue a career in journalism, working at The American Spectator before moving to The Washington Post in 1987. Since then, Gladwell has become an award-winning journalist, public speaker, writer and ‘Global Thinker’. He has written six hugely successful titles from The Tipping Point: How Little Things Can Make a Big Difference (2000), to Outliers: The Story of Success (2008). His most recent book is Talking to Strangers: What We Should Know About the People We Don’t Know (2019). Gladwell was included in the TIME 100 Most Influential People list in 2005. He has been a staff writer for The New Yorker since 1996 and is host of the Revisionist History podcast.
About Oliver Barrett
Oliver Barrett is an artist and designer based in Cleveland, Ohio. After spending over a decade working for branding and marketing agencies, Barrett left the commercial world to become an independent artist. His illustrations have been commissioned by Fox, Amazon, Disney, Marvel Studios, Netflix, Nike, Wired and Vice.

Apart from the font choice on the spine this is book is typical for the Folio Society in every way...except one: the choice of book. One could argue that this is a fine example of it's genre, and one would be right, but I have a nagging feeling that the genre in question doesn't really fit with Folio Society's quality literature mandate. Of course, neither does a book like Jaws either, but at least that book has a type of iconic status, whereas this one doesn't. That said, if you want a quality copy of a Lee Child book then buy it, it's fantastic quality.

Beautifully crafted, crisp illustrations, a treasure.
Mario Puzo’s brilliant and brutal story of Mafia feuds and retribution in post-war New York is published in a sensational new illustrated Folio Society edition, introduced by Jonathan Freedland.
